In a world where everything is upside down,

where pigs rise high
and birds have neither to sing nor to fly,
where we live in the dark
and hope for a bright dawn,
where the truth mostly loses from lie;
in a world where injustice
has become a practice,
humanity has been lost.
It’s difficult to be justice,
even though it has a sharp sword,
its deed remains only a word.
Whatever the scales show, good or bad,
justice is simply blind
and hard, too hard to find.

Pravda je jednostavno slijepa

U svijetu u kojem je sve naopako,
gdje se svinje uzdižu visoko,
a ptice ne mogu ni pjevati ni letjeti,
gdje živimo u mraku
i nadamo se vedrijoj zori,
gdje istina uglavnom gubi od laži;
u svijetu u kojem je nepravda
postala praksa,
čovječanstvo je izgubljeno.
Nije lako biti pravda,
iako ima oštar mač,
njeno djelo ostaje samo riječ.
Šta god vaga pokazala, dobro ili loše,
pravda je jednostavno slijepa
i teško je, tako teško pronaći.

Selma Kopić b. Šehanović was born on April 13, 1962 in Tuzla, the largest city in northeastern Bosnia, to a family of five.
